One month and a day ago I started my healthy lifestyle...

I have lost 13.6 pounds!!!
For about a week..I wasn't losing any weight and I think it was because I was gaining muscle (weighs more than fat). I was doing the weight machines for about 20-30 min...So in the last couple days I changed my routine to 35 min elliptical, 15 min treadmill, 10 min elliptical again..then a little bit of weights..less machines..shorter reps. The result was me losing weight!! yay!! So that will be my new routine for awhile.

I have lost the weight...the healthy, right way and I'm so proud of my results!!

Faster speed, Smaller clothes!

I am now doing the elliptical at a speed of 3.2-3.8 and usually stay around 3.4-3.6 :) I am going a little faster than I have been, and it feels easier! This faster speed also makes me sweat a little more ;)

My legs have been doing work at the gym everyday! I am so thankful that I am able to exercise, because some people can't.

I went shopping and I can fit in smaller sizes!
For example, I've always worn XXL at Old Navy..shirts, shorts, dresses, pants, etc. Yesterday I went shopping and got a shirt and pants that were a size XL!
Also I got a pair of jeans..granted they were a little stretchy..in a size 18!! I have not been able to wear an 18 at Old Navy in years..even in this style. Heck! I couldn't even fit in the size 20 pants in years either. I know that a few months ago I would not have been able to wear these pants, in an 18 or even a 20.
Thank you for reading and coming along with me on this journey to a healthier life! :)

Progress!

I am up to 35 minutes on the elliptical!! (without stopping) yay!!
I can also tell that my stomach is getting smaller. Not a HUGE difference..but my mom and a couple of friends can tell :) One day at a time.
I was at the local grocery store and I took my blood pressure. It was 117 over 73 which is really good! I've never had high blood pressure...but this is definitely an improvement from where it has been in the past :)

I have also noticed that I am getting fuller, faster. My stomach is getting used to smaller portions which is great!

elliptical is my friend :)

I am now doing 30 minutes on the elliptical! From only being able to do 10 min, I am super excited that I am up to 30 minutes without stopping. I don't go too fast either. My speed ranges from 2.8-3.2 but I try and stay at a pace of 3.0 :)

Today I did:
30 min-elliptical
20 min-bike
10 min-treadmill
15 min-weights

;)

I am learning to love the gym. I am feeling better too!!

Who said I can't workout with my hair curled? ;)

Down 11.2 pounds!!!

I wanted to reach this goal (or at least 10 pounds lost) by January 24th. I have set a goal of losing at least 10 pounds in one month. I passed my goal with 12 days to go!! I am so excited!

When starting this healthy lifestyle journey, I knew I needed/wanted to set realistic goals. I can't lose 50 pounds in a month..but I can strive to lose 10 and if I lose more, even better!

I have really started to enjoy working out! I workout at the gym for a little over an hour EVERY DAY. By the time I am done or at home after..I am ready to go back for some more. I know I don't want to over-do it so I am sticking to this routine for now.

I am even up to doing 26 min on the elliptical, whereas when I started I could only do about 10 and felt like I was going to die..even when I am done with 26, I feel like I could keep going. I want to slowly increase my time so that my body can work up to a longer workout. :)

Thank you for all your encouragement.
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and following this journey with me.

my body is getting used to this...

My first few days working out I could only do about 10 min on the elliptical, 15 on bike, and 15 on treadmill. (I was tired!! and wanted to either stop or really slow down)

Today I did..22 min on elliptical, 20 on bike, 20 on treadmill, and about 15 on weights. Here's a pic of me after my workout:
I was a little tired, but I could have kept going! Plus I've lost another pound!! wooooo!

I am still having my smoothies every morning, and today I added some pieces of frozen mango :)
I am also a lover of pasta! who isn't??? But here's a healthier option:
-whole wheat pasta
-light alfredo (only a little)
-steamed broccoli
-and a little sprinkle of shredded parmesan

In 2 weeks I have lost....

exactly 5 pounds!! I know that by going to the gym this week, it has boosted my weight loss :)

Also, it is so important to make healthier choices, even at fast food places. (that's my struggle, I tend to eat fast food a lot..but I've learned to make the healthier choice)

For example, I went to Wendy's the other night and this is what I got:
-5 piece nuggets (NO dipping sauce, my weakness)
-water
-side salad with pomegranate vinaigrette (NO croutons)
this was all under 300 calories :)

January 2nd

I joined a gym!!!!!!!

so starting that Monday January 2nd up until today, January 6th I have worked out every day and have lost another 2 pounds :)

I am doing the elliptical, treadmill, bike, and weights.

I started doing about 10 mins at each exercise but I am now up to 15 mins on each and it's getting easier every day.

After workout:

One day at a time.
Rome wasn't built in a day.
My body will change as time and this new routine continue.

My first week!

I lost 2 pounds :)

I have been drinking smoothies almost every morning that look like this:
What's in it?
1 banana
a couple frozen strawberries
a few slices of frozen peach
a handful of fresh spinach
plus a little water to help mix.
It's really good and filling..you can't even taste the spinach :)
